SANTA BARBARA, CA–(Marketwire -09/06/11)- Carbon Sciences Inc. (OTC.BB: CABN.OB – News), the developer of a breakthrough technology to make gasoline and other fuels from natural gas and carbon dioxide, today announced the addition of Dr. Hui Wang and Dr. Jenny McCahill to its technical team.
Byron Elton, Carbon Sciences CEO, commented, “The addition of Dr. Wang and Dr. McCahill to the company provides our technical team with world class catalysis expertise and experience and will help accelerate our time to market.”
Dr. Hui Wang is an associate professor in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at the University of Saskatchewan. He received his PhD from the University of Alberta (Canada). With experience working in industry, universities in China, Australia and Canada, and a U.S. national laboratory, Dr. Wang’s expertise covers heterogeneous catalysis, separation engineering, chemical reaction engineering and synchrotron X-ray spectroscopy. He has been involved in the projects of developing carbonyl sulfide hydrolysis catalyst, H2S scavenger and sulfur removal technology. The method he developed to make CO2 reforming of CH4 catalyst, which allows long-term stable operation by minimizing the carbon formation side reaction, has been awarded a U.S. patent. Dr. Wang has authored and co-authored nearly 100 publications including journal papers, invited lectures, conference papers and presentations and research reports. He recently received the “Award of Innovation” from the Innovation Place of Saskatoon and the Industrial Liaison Office of the University of Saskatchewan.
Dr. Jenny McCahill received her Bachelor of Science in Engineering Chemistry from Queen’s University and her PhD in Chemistry from the University of Windsor in 2008. Related honors include the National Science Foundation’s American Competitiveness in Chemistry Fellowship, First Class Honors from Queen’s University and numerous national and provincial scholarships. As a member of the Scott Group at the University of California Santa Barbara, Dr. McCahill’s postdoctoral research recently focused on supported sub-nanoparticles for applications in catalysis. She worked with Imperial Oil’s polyethylene division and brings years of distinguished catalysis research and a fundamental knowledge of catalysis to her new role at the company.
“We are well on our way to providing the world a commercially viable technology to produce cleaner and greener liquid fuels from natural gas for immediate use in the existing transportation infrastructure,” Elton commented. ”The use of natural gas as a feedstock for transportation fuel has been gaining worldwide support because of its abundance, affordability and the increasing scarcity of cheap, easy oil. Our catalyst is the missing link and this team is working diligently to bring it to market.”

About Carbon Sciences Inc.
Carbon Sciences has developed a proprietary technology to make gasoline and other fuels from natural gas. We believe our technology will enable nations of the world to reduce their dependence on petroleum by cost-effectively using natural gas to produce cleaner and greener liquid fuels for immediate use in the existing transportation infrastructure. Although found in abundant supply at affordable prices in the U.S. and throughout the world, natural gas cannot be used directly in cars, trucks, trains and planes without a massive overhaul of the existing transportation infrastructure. Innovating at the forefront of chemical engineering, Carbon Sciences is developing a highly scalable, clean-tech process to transform natural gas into liquid transportation fuels such as gasoline, diesel and jet fuel. The key to this cost-effective process is a proprietary methane dry reforming catalyst that consumes carbon dioxide.
