Swisher Hygiene Buys another Waste Company in Florida

Swisher Hygiene, Inc. (Charlotte, NC), which specializes in industrial hygiene but also owns a Florida-based solid waste company Choice Environmental, is buying a small hauler in Pompano Beach, FL for $ 1.1 million. The company, FSR Transporting & Crane Services Inc., provides solid waste management and recycling services to the South Florida region. “The acquisition of FSR’s solid waste business further strengthens our competitive footprint and our ongoing execution in south Florida,” said Glenn Miller, CEO at Swisher Hygiene’s solid waste subsidiary Choice Environmental Services.

Swisher Hygiene Acquires Certain Assets of Waste and Chemical Companies
Swisher Hygiene Inc. (“Swisher Hygiene”) (Nasdaq: SWSH) (TSX: SWI), a leading provider of essential hygiene and sanitation products and services, today announced it has acquired certain solid waste and recycling assets of FSR Transporting & Crane Services, Inc. (“FSR”).
FSR provides solid waste management and recycling services to the South Florida region, which includes the collection, hauling and disposal of solid waste and recyclables from commercial, construction and demolition and roll-off customers and accounts.
“The acquisition of FSR’s solid waste business further strengthens our competitive footprint and our ongoing execution in South Florida,” stated Glen Miller, Chief Executive Officer of Swisher Hygiene’s Choice Environmental Services subsidiary. “We are pleased to add the FSR solid waste and recycling customer base to Swisher Hygiene, which will provide us with additional avenues to cross-sell our full service offerings.”
Total consideration paid by Swisher Hygiene in connection with the acquisition was $ 1.1 million in cash.
In addition, Swisher Hygiene announced today that it has completed the acquisition of the assets of Specialty Products of America, LLC, a Southeastern U.S.-based chemical distribution company, in accordance with the terms set forth in a press release issued by Swisher Hygiene on December 8, 2011.
